Who is our group?
DeafBlind West Australians (DBWA) is a self advocacy and peer support group supporting people living with deafblindness in Western Australia.
What does our group care about?
- We care about access and inclusion for our members.
- We support people who are deafblind to live fulfilling lives.
- We help members to do things they would find difficult without support.
- We organise social events for our members to network and make new friends.
- We organise educational and training experiences for our members
- We advocate for change and better support for our members
- We raise awareness of deafblindness in the community
Things our group has worked on:
- Starting a drop in centre for deafblind peer support
- Deafblind Camps
- Deafblind awareness events and programs to help the community understand deafblindness
- Leadership development for members
Who can be member of our group?
You can be a member of DeafBlind West Australians if you:
- Live with sensory loss or support the aims of the group
- Live in Western Australia
Ordinary membership costs $25 per year
