What is National Self Advocacy Day?

nothing about us without us

National Self Advocacy Day is a day to celebrate self advocacy across Australia.

It is held every year on the 2nd Wednesday of October.

Self advocates, self advocacy groups, supporters and organisations come together to:

  • Connect with each other and meet new people

  • Hear from self advocate speakers from all over Australia
nothing about us without us
  • Share what their groups have been doing
  • Celebrate the work of the Self Advocacy Movement

National Self Advocacy Day is run by self advocates, for self advocates.

Different groups and organisations can run their own events to mark the day.
